Capital One Hall opened in October 2021, and premiered this Broadway series the same month with Waitress. Other shows of the inaugural Broadway in Tysons season included Fiddler On the Roof and An Officer & a Gentleman.
That first go-round of bringing Broadway productions to the state-of-the-art Capital One Hall stage was a smashing success, needless to say, and now the second season is continuing the stellar run. After a November 2022 production of Tootsie, Capital One Hall will soon be presenting the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray (January 20th through the 22nd), arriving in Tysons as part of a brand-new touring production that’s brought original director Jack O’Brien and choreographer Jerry Mitchell back together again.
Hot on the heels of Hairspray comes Anastastia, running February 3rd through the 5th. Conceived by the Tony Award-winning team behind Ragtime, this well-received musical is based on the 1997 Don Bluth-Gary Goldman animated film focused on the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia.
On March 22nd, you can take in the stirring Aretha Franklin tribute R.E.S.P.E.C.T., a touring musical experience starring former Australian Idol contestant Angie Narayan. Other musical legends come celebrated April 21st through the 23rd via On Your Feet, which tells the song-filled story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan.
