The taste of fall’s in the air here in Northern Virginia, and now’s the time to start dreaming and scheming about a getaway with us here at The Watermark Hotel in Tysons!

Host to big, vibrant cities as it is, the DMV area also harbors extensive and productive farmland, and fall’s prime time for exploring it—not least on account of all the U-pick and autumn-festival action that’s going down this time of year!
Consider the Cox Farms Fall Festival in Centreville, Virginia, for example, which runs September 16th and 17th and then Thursday through Monday from September 23rd through November 6th (and extending to Tuesday, November 7th as well). This is a no-brainer for fall fun with kids on a Watermark Hotel getaway, what with the World Famous Hayride, multiple slides, Foamhenge, the Imaginature Trail, the Goat Village, the Tractor Museum, and other fun on tap.
Cox Farms also adds some seasonally appropriate spookiness to the mix courtesy of its Fields of Fear attraction, which includes such frightful installations as The Forest: Back 40, the Dark Side Hayride, Cornightmare, and The Fireground. The Cox Farms Fields of Fear are there to test your courage on Friday and Saturday nights from September 22nd through November 4th (with a special Sunday edition on October 8th, too).
More fall festivities await over at Great Country Farms in Bluemont, Virginia, meanwhile, offering pick-your-own apples (plus fresh apple cider and apple cider donuts, live music, pig races, and more) in September and a Fall Pumpkin Harvest in October, followed up by the rather delightful Pumpkin Chunkin’ Weekend on November 4th and 5th.
There’s plenty going on this fall right here in Tysons Corner, Virginia, and you’ll be well situated to enjoy it all with luxury accommodations at The Watermark Hotel at the Capitol One Center.
Over at The Bono, for example, you’ll find the Tysons Fall Mixed Market underway on Wednesdays from September 20th through October 25th, with a wide variety of fresh fruit, produce, prepared foods, arts-and-crafts, and other goods for sales.
And on October 27th from 2 to 5 PM, you can crack out the lederhosen and dirndl for Oktoberfest at The Bono, featuring a biergarten serving up local brews, some authentic (and authentically delicious) German cuisine, live polka music, a stein-holding competition, and other Bavarian-style delights.
Right here at the Capital One Center, you can make your up to the rooftop greenspace of The Perch—just a short stroll from our front door here at the connected Watermark Hotel—and enjoy Perchfest, gong down September 15th through the 17th. Things get underway with some friendly competition at the Perch Putt Open on the 15th. The weekend festivities will also find local arts-and-crafts vendors and Shop Made in VA and live music and craft beer in the Star Hill Biergarten.
Our all-suite hotel at the Capitol One Center also makes a heck of a launchpad for some Northern Virginia/Greater D.C. leaf-peeping!
